Evan Rachel Wood

Evan Rachel Wood was conceived in Raleigh, North Carolina on September 7th, 1987. Her father, Ira David Wood III is a theatre actor and writer, while her mother, Sara Wood is an actress and acting coach. There are two older brothers, Dana Wood, a musician, as well as Ira David Wood IV, who has also acted. Evan and her brothers occasionally were on stage at Theatre In The Park in Raleigh where her father established and where he is the executive director. At the age of five she screen-tested against Kirsten Dunst to play the lead part in Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994) following a lengthy audition process. She moved to Los Angeles with her mom and brother Ira in 1996 . She's enjoyed success since then and has been featured in a variety of TV series, TV movies and feature films. She starred as Tracy in Practical Magic (1998) and in S1m0ne (2002 the child of Al Pacino). Holly Hunter followed with Thirteen (2004). Her role as Tracy in "Thirteen," which she performed in, earned her a nomination at the Golden Globes for Best Performance by an Actress: Drama, as well as a nomination from Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Actress of Female Character in a Leading Role. She was the first actress nominated for an Emmy or Golden Globe nomination for a Leading Role award at the time. Her role as Veda Pierce in the HBO mini-series Mildred, Pierce (2011) brought her an Emmy nomination as well as a Golden Globe award. Also, acclaim was awarded to her performance as Stephanie (Mickey Rourke's ex-wife) in Darren Aronofsky’s The Wrestler (2008). Sara Wood and Ira David Wood III are her parents. Ira David Wood IV's younger sister and Dana's younger sister. Trained in dance. She enjoys to sing, ride a horseback, and rollerblade. She is a black belt in tae Kwon Do. She's kept in contact with for the majority of her time in Once and Again (1999) Castmates: Mischa Barrton, Julia Whelan and Shane West.
