Will Ferrell
Will Ferrell
was a member of the cast of Saturday Night Live before going into the big
screen to play comedies like 'Elf' 'Anchorman,' and Talladega Nights. Will
Ferrell was born in Irvine, California in 1967. He began his career in comedy by
playing an actor for the Los Angeles-based improv group, the Groundlings. He
was a Saturday Night Live cast member for seven years before becoming a huge
comedic draw with off-color successes, including Old School 2003 and Anchorman:
The Legend of Ron Burgundy 2004. Ferrell is also co-creator of the popular
video streaming website Funny or Die, and enjoyed success as a voiceover actor
in animated films such as Megamind (2010). John William Ferrell was conceived
in Irvine, California on July 16 1967. Will Ferrell was the oldest child of
Righteous Brothers keyboardist Lee Ferrell and instructor Kay Ferrell. He was
according to his own admission not the typical class clown while he was a
University High School student. Ferrell who was quiet and studious was adamant
about making his mark in football where he set records for the number of field
goals made. Even in the more comfortable living space of his suburban
residence, Ferrell displayed little of his outrageous, hilarious outbursts that
would later help define his career. In an interview with Esquire his mother,
she said that Ferrell was "very gentle, and very calm." "You
know those little Matchbox cars? Will be ecstatic to line up all his Matchbox
cars on his own. You'd ask, "You want to go to Disneyland today?"
He'd have to think about the matter. Ferrell was not a straight man. As he
delivered his daily announcements via the PA system, a glimpse into his comical
talents was shown each morning at high-school. Following his graduation in 1986
Ferrell attended the University of Southern California at Los Angeles, where he
joined the Delta Tau fraternity and pursued the degree of sports journalist.
